Welcome to my first attempt at a web page.  I recently started working at a company called Homestead Technologies, a provider of website building and hosting solutions.  The Homestead product allows people with no html or programming knowledge (like myself) to build websites.  I work in business development and marketing at Homestead and decided it was time for me to familiarize myself with the product I have been trying to market and build partnerships around - I am building this website with the Homestead product.   There are numerous different types of 'elements' that I can incorporate into the site, but for starters, I'm just going to learn how to do the most basic things.  Check back periodically to see my progress learning the product and to learn more about me, my family, my friends and to see pictures.
So for a little background on me, I joined Homestead in May 2003.  Before joining Homestead, I worked three years in investment banking at JPMorgan in San Francisco, focusing on the technology sector.  In between jobs I did some traveling around southeast Asia - the pictures to the left are me sitting on a boat floating down the Mekong River in Vietnam and eating a meal at a 'warung' in Bali.  To the right is me standing in front of one of the temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia - it was a memorable trip.  I graduated from Harvard in 1999 with a degree in economics, which helps to explain why I need a product like Homestead's to build a web page.
I recently moved to San Mateo, CA, just a little south of San Francisco where I used to live.  I moved out to the west coast after college.  Originally, I was supposed to work in New York City, but at the last moment the opportunity to work in JPMorgan's San Francisco office came up and I jumped at the opportunity,  Having never left the east coast and the technology sector craze at the time, it seemed like a great opportunity.  It was a big decision for me, but in hindsight one of the best decisions I've ever made and I've never looked back.   Fortunately, I had some friends living out here already and have met many other people, many of whom you can see on my Friends page.  The warm weather of the west coast has prompted many of my friends to move out here as well, or at the very least to visit.  This picture was taken at Ocean Beach, just a few minutes drive from my last home in the city, when one of my friends visited.
One of the great things about San Francisco is the abundance of outdoor sights and activities, none more scenic or famous than the Golden Gate Bridge.  Below is a picture of a recent bike ride I took with some friends across the bridge.
